Calculate your Body Mass Index using metric or imperial units
Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight. It is widely used by doctors and health professionals as a quick screening tool to identify weight categories that may lead to health problems.
A BMI under 18.5 is considered underweight. A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered normal or healthy weight. A BMI between 25.0 and 29.9 is considered overweight. A BMI of 30.0 or above is considered obese.
BMI is a useful screening tool but it does not directly measure body fat. It may overestimate body fat in athletes with high muscle mass, and underestimate it in older adults who have lost muscle mass. Always consult a doctor for a full health assessment.
